Siena sign Marazzina

Massimo Marazzina has signed for Siena on a three-year contract.

Massimo Marazzina has signed for Siena, presumably ending the Serie A club's interest in Massimo Maccarone.

The striker, who is a free agent after having his contract at Torino annulled following their relegation, has joined the Tuscan outfit on a three-year deal.

Siena had looked to try and re-sign Maccarone, who was on loan with the club last term, but Middlesbrough rejected their bid for the Italian attacker, who was on the substitutes' bench for the Premiership clash at Birmingham City.

Instead of snapping up Maccarone again, Siena have instead turned to Marazzina, who could figure in Gigi De Canio's plans for Sunday's season opener against Cagliari.
