Four back for Boro

Middlesbrough will have four first team players returning from injury on Wednesday.

Middlesbrough will have four first team players returning from injury in the reserves on Wednesday night.

Centre half Ugo Ehiogu returns for the game against Leeds' second string, after the former Aston Villa man has played just twice all season.

A calf injury is the most recent injury to keep Ehiogu out of the action, and Steve McClaren will be hoping he gets through the reserve match unscathed.

Chris Riggott also returns after suffering a calf injury, which has kept him out of the last four matches.

Riggott and Ehiogu's return will increase McClaren's options at the heart of his defence to help out skipper Gareth Southgate.

Two other players also return for Boro in what is a strong reserve line-up, with Malcolm Christie and Stuart Parnaby back in the action.

Both men have been out with broken legs, after Christie injured the same leg that has been keeping him out for so long, while Parnaby has been out since October.
