Double boost for Boro

Middlesbrough have been boosted with the news that Ugo Ehiogu and Stuart Parnaby are both set to return to first team action.

The pair have both been sidelined for lengthy periods, but have been called into Boro's squad for their Carling Cup clash with Everton on Wednesday.

Ehiogu has not played this season because of a knee ligament problem, while Parnaby suffered a similar but lesser problem in August against Leeds.

Injuries to Juninho (hamstring) and fellow Brazilian Doriva (head wound) have now seen manager Steve McClaren add Ehiogu and Parnaby to his squad for the Toffees clash..

"We're delighted to have them back," said McClaren.

George Boateng is also a doubt for the game, but Boro seem to be overcoming their major injury crisis, which has also seen Malcolm Christie and Joseph Desire Job sidelined for long spells.

Cameroonian star Job has begun training again after he injured his knee in October and is now on course to return earlier than expected.
