Italian insists City remain outsiders to finish top

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini believes his team still have a 'chance' in the title race after beating Wolves 2-0 at Molineux. With Everton holding Manchester United to a 4-4 at Old Trafford it meant City's win, which relegated Wolves in the process, moved the club three points behind the leaders. Mancini all but wrote off his team's chances of catching Sir Alex Ferguson's troops in recent weeks and following a good Sunday for the Etihad club he thinks they remain outsiders to finish top. City take on United in a mouth-watering clash later this month and with Newcastle and QPR in the pipeline the Italian tactician feels the title hopefuls have the harder run in as the Red Devils have Swansea and Sunderland left.

Chance

"They have a bigger chance, more than us. I think we have difficult games," he told Sky Sports. "I'm pleased with our form. For now until the end we have three games, United, Newcastle and QPR. "United? After us their games aren't easy, but not as difficult as ours. I think we have another chance." Goals either side of half-time from Sergio Aguero and Samir Nasri settled the destination of the points, but Mancini was unhappy his side were wasteful in front of goal, especially as goals difference could play a factor. "We had more chances to score. That's for sure," he continued. "Because of this I'm unhappy because we had four or five chances to score and close the game before.
Performance
"I don't think we did a good performance like we did against Norwich or West Brom. "Today was important to win. I don't feel we played a bad game, but our performance wasn't perfect. "I don't know why. We needed to win this game maybe. I don't know or maybe because we talked before the game that it might be easy. "I told them before the game this would be difficult probably because this team doesn't deserve to be on the bottom. "I'm sorry for (Wolves) because they've been relegated. Every time I've played here I've had a problem because they've played strongly every time. They have a good mentality."
