Sky Sports News that he is 'hurt' by the allegation he refused to play.
Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini stated after the club's UEFA Champions League clash with Bayern Munich that the Argentine refused to play.
The club suspended Tevez as they investigated the issue and on Tuesday they fined him four weeks' wages after a disciplinary hearing upheld a charge of improper conduct against the Argentine.
But City did not charge Tevez with refusing to play, and the striker is now reported to be considering legal action against Mancini over his comments.
"He has been hurt by the insinuation that he refused to play when Manchester City's charges are refusal to resume to warming up," his PR advisor Paul McCarthy told
Sky Sports News.
"So that is where there is conflict, if there is any conflict at the moment...he feels his reputation has been damaged by that."
McCarthy also refuted some press reports that Tevez's conflict with the club stemmed from the fact that they have refused to pay him loyalty bonuses worth around £6million.
"Carlos really wants to defend as strongly as possible that this was some sort of premeditated action, because of loss of loyalty earnings, bonuses," he continued.
"He absolutely refutes that and will fight that allegation and insinuatuion as strongly as he possibly can."
Taking stock
McCarthy confirmed Tevez was now considering his options.
"It is now time to take absolute stock of the situation. It has been a very difficult time for Carlos and Manchester City," he said.
"There will be no rash decision but all options are still open to Carlos."
He also insisted that Tevez could yet play for the club again, saying: "I know Roberto Mancini came out after the game saying he was finished.
"But Carlos has served his two-week suspension and is now back and will follow any instruction from City about training, who he trains with, where he trains and what time of day - but he he just wants to play football, that is all he has ever wanted to do."
