Armand flattered by City interest

NANTES defender Sylvain Armand has revealed that he has not received any offers from Manchester City, but is flattered by the interest from Kevin Keegan`s side.

The 22-year-old defender has been strongly linked with a move away from La Beaujoire when the transfer window opens in January and England is where most interest is coming from.

Manchester United and Blackburn Rovers are both known to have scouted the player in recent weeks, but Kevin Keegan's City are said to be leading the chase.

The left sided Armand has revealed that no offer has been made for him, but admits it is flattering.

"I do not know anything about it," Armand told Ouest-France when asked about City.

"Despite that I take pleasure knowing that a club like that are interested in me, it is flattering.

"But as of today, I have not had any contact.

"If there is any contact made, then I will examine each proposal with my agent."

Armand has only made the breakthrough at Nantes over the last two seasons and his progress has been rapid.

Despite his achievements the highly-rated defender is not letting things get to him.

He added: "I am not letting everything that has happened to me over the past 18 months go to my head.

"It has all happened very quickly and it is hard to believe."
