Newcastle keeper set for another loan at Parkhead

Celtic have agreed a deal to bring Newcastle United goalkeeper Fraser Forster back to Parkhead on another loan arrangement. Forster impressed during a loan spell in the SPL last season and Bhoys boss Neil Lennon has spent much of the summer trying to re-sign 23-year-old. Newcastle had previously rejected a bid for the keeper, who was on the bench for the Magpies' opening Premier League game of the season against Arsenal last Saturday. However, Forster now looks poised to rejoin the Bhoys on a season-long loan with a view to a permanent move. "A deal has been agreed," said Lennon ahead of Celtic's Europa League tie with Sion on Thursday. "There are a few little snags to overcome but we hope to have him registered in time for tomorrow night."

Main target

Lennon continued: "If that is the eventuality of things, we would be absolutely delighted. "He has been the main target since the end of last season. "We did put a bid in but it was knocked back but we worked hard in the background to try to bring him in so I'm very, very pleased." Lennon has searched far and wide this summer for a back-up to Lukasz Zaluska and Dominic Cervi and is considering putting Forster straight in against the Swiss side. He said: "We will have to see his condition. "The form of Lukasz has been very good so we will weigh these things up. But it has given myself and the squad a boost. "We have three very good goalkeepers so there is great competition in that area which is what we wanted."
