Hertha refuse to sell Czech Republic international

Reported Newcastle and Blackpool target Roman Hubnik is not for sale in the summer, according to Hertha Berlin.

The Czech Republic international defender has been linked with a move to St James' Park after helping Hertha to the top of Bundesliga 2.

Newcastle scouts, and representatives from Premier League rivals Blackpool, were rumoured to have watched Hubnik against FSV Frankfurt earlier in March.

But Hertha have no plans to allow the 26-year-old, who is under contract until 2014, to leave at the end of the season.

Hertha general manager Michael Preetz told Berliner Zeitung newspaper: "Roman Hubnik is a player of Hertha Berlin.
