Fab news for Newcastle on Argentine centre-back

Newcastle United will be boosted by the return of Fabricio Coloccini for Saturday's trip to Swansea. The cultured defender has been out of action with a hamstring injury and was badly missed in Tuesday night's 3-0 defeat at Derby. However, manager Chris Hughton is confident he will have the Argentine stopper at his disposal once again as the Magpies attempt to bounce back from relinquishing top spot at the Liberty Stadium. "Fabricio will be fine for Swansea," Hughton told the club's official website. "That's a boost because he has been a consistent performer this season." Hughton, who expects defender Ryan Taylor to shake off a hamstring complaint in time for the weekend clash in Wales, also revealed veteran midfielder Nicky Butt will remain absent with a thigh problem. New signings Mike Williamson and Fitz Hall have been paired together at the heart of the Newcastle defence in Coloccini's absence and impressed in the 5-1 mauling of Cardiff last week. But the Magpies were leapfrogged by West Brom at the Championship summit as a result of their reverse at Pride Park while the Swans cemented their place in the play-off positions with a 1-0 victory at Crystal Palace.
