On-loan Wigan winger Marc Albrighton has returned to parent club Aston Villa.
The 24-year-old has been on loan at the DW Stadium since late October and has played in four games for the Championship club having arrived following an injury to Scotland international Shaun Maloney.
Villa boss Paul Lambert has only used Albrighton once this campaign, in their 4-0 third round Capital One Cup defeat at home to Tottenham.
The player appeared keen to remain in the North-West as he battled back from injury problems but Lambert has opted to recall him from his loan spell ahead of time, with the deal initially expected to run until 30 November.
Coyle confirmed the news ahead of Wigan's Europa League game with Dutch side Zulte-Waregem on Thursday, although Albrighton would not have been eligible to play in the contest.
