Aston Villa boss Alex McLeish fears Richard Dunne will be out of action for a month with his shoulder injury.
Dunne sustained the injury in landing awkwardly following an aerial challenge during Villa's 1-0 defeat to his old club Manchester City.
The central defender is set to undergo scans on the injury with the club fearing he has dislocated his right shoulder.
Month out
"We've a specialist in looking at him (Dunne)," said McLeish
"I'm not sure what is going to happen with the big 'un, whether he is going to go to hospital tonight or whatever, or what they do when a shoulder is dislocated, whether they stick it back in.
"I can't give you an answer just now, but I do believe he is going to be out for at least a month, so that's serious enough."
Ciaran Clark also faces a spell on the sidelines after missing the City defeat with a knee ligament problem he picked up in training.
"In training yesterday Ciaran caught his studs in the turf and he's tweaked his ligament.
"It's a real shame because we had definite plans for him tonight.
"We will lose him for a few weeks. It's not an overnight return either. It's knee ligament issues."
