Monaco ponder Baros bid

Monaco could be set to resurrect their interest in Aston Villa striker Milan Baros.

Monaco could be set to resurrect their interest in Aston Villa striker Milan Baros.

The Principality outfit are long-term admirers of the Euro 2004 top scorer, who will hoping to prove his international credentials again at this summer's World Cup finals in Germany.

With Laszlo Boloni set to be appointed new coach, the Stade Louis II outfit are already working on close season reinforcements and a striker is top of their list of priorities.

A ‚é¼3.5 million (£2.4 million) bid for Marco Di Vaio was rejected by Valencia, as they want at least ‚é¼5 million (£3.42 million) for the Italian forward after signing Fernando Morientes from Liverpool.

Baros is also thought to be on the short-list for Monaco, according to sources in France, but his salary demands could be a stumbling block.

Villa accept that the former Liverpool striker can leave if the price is right this summer.
