Marcus Olsson says he has not let his mind drift to what might happen when his contract expires this summer as he remains fully focused on Blackburn's crucial final game.
Olsson has made just eight appearances so far this season and has yet to agree a new deal to keep him at Ewood Park.
However, the 25-year-old, who joined the club in January 2012, insists that he has not been thinking about his future.
He said in the Lancashire Telegraph: “No, actually I don’t. People ask me that question but I don’t.”
Blackburn need to win at home to Wigan Athletic on Saturday to stand any chance of clinching a play-off berth, and Olsson is determined to seize the opportunity.
“It’s going to go down to the last game and we still have a chance,” he said.
“We’ve got good confidence in the team and many players in the team are playing well.
“We’re still in there so nobody is thinking negatively.
“Wigan are a good team but so are we and we have been playing well recently so it’s going to be a good game.”
Olsson is set to start against Wigan after impressing against Charlton Athletic and Birmingham City, and he is delighted to be back in the side after stepping in for the injured Tommy Spurr.
“It means a lot (to be playing),” he said.
“I haven’t been involved so much but I have been involved in the last two good games.
“I think in both games we played very well. We played the ball around the park, finding each other, and everybody was moving around and wanting the ball.”
