Yakubu Aiyegbeni insists Blackburn will not buckle in their basement battle, with the club determined to preserve their Premier League status.
Rovers got back to winning ways in their last top flight fixture, against Norwich, but remain three points from safety with nine left to play for.
They will get the opportunity to close that gap on Sunday when they go to top-four chasers Tottenham, and are desperate to take a positive result away from White Hart Lane.
Yakubu acknowledges that each passing fixture is taking on added importance for Blackburn, as they attempt to end a disappointing campaign on a high, and appreciates that Steve Kean's side will need to dig deep if they are to haul themselves clear of trouble.
"We still have chances to stay up," the Nigerian striker told
The Observer.
"We keep fighting. Spurs, Wigan, Chelsea - it's not going to be easy. But, as with Manchester United and Wigan, we can beat any team.
"All my career, sometimes it's up and down. You have to be really strong in your head, you have to stand like a man."
No fear
Yakubu's career in English football has seen him take in spells at Portsmouth, Middlesbrough, Everton, Leicester and Blackburn.
He has never suffered the pain of relegation at any of his previous clubs and he has no intention of experiencing such lows in 2012.
"If I can get more than 20 goals - I want to score to stay up, not score and go down," added the 29-year-old.
"It's not nice, the club is a family club.
"I've not been relegated before - it's not fear, but in my career I don't want to go down."
