Genk agree fee to sign Poland international Sandomierski

Celtic are in danger of missing out on signing Grzegorz Sandomierski after Genk agreed a fee for the Poland international goalkeeper. SPL side Celtic had been discussing a deal for Sandomierski with his club Jagiellonia Bialystok, but have so far been unable to settle on a price. The Polish side have now announced that they have agreed a fee with Genk and that Sandomierski would have a medical on Friday after travelling straight to Belgium following Poland's friendly against Georgia. Lennon had described Sandomierski as having "huge potential" on Sunday as he reported that the club "might be further down the line" with attempts to sign him. The Celtic manager has been looking for a goalkeeper to compete with Lukasz Zaluska since Fraser Forster returned to Newcastle following a season-long loan. Attempts to sign Forster on a permanent deal failed and Lennon did not follow up his initial interest in Stipe Pletikosa after the Croatia international played two friendly matches for Celtic as a trialist. Sandomierski revealed earlier in the week that he would be keen on a move to Parkhead to follow in the footsteps of his compatriot Artur Boruc, however, he now looks to be on his way to Genk.
