Doncaster Rovers have signed striker Chris Brown on a two-year contract after his release from Preston North End.
Brown, 26, won a Third Division winners' medal when featuring for his home-town club in the 2003/04 season when on loan from Sunderland.
In his first spell with Rovers he made 22 appearances during a seven month stay, scoring 10 goals, and he later joined Preston for £400,000 in January 2008 from Norwich City, after moving to the Canaries from the Black Cats.
Brown said: "I spoke to Sean (O'Driscoll) last week and it's been ongoing since but it was easy to make the decision to come back to Rovers.
"Phil Brown indicated he wanted me to stay but I wanted to see what was out there. I was surprised how at home I felt when I had a look round Doncaster.
"Even more so when I met people like Dave Morris, Dave Richards and others like Steve Uttley, who were here when I was last at the club in 2004"
