Spanish veteran looking to extend Ewood Park stay

Blackburn Rovers veteran Michel Salgado has confirmed he would like to extend his Ewood Park stay. The former Real Madrid man was brought to England by ex-boss Sam Allardyce and he has made a positive impact in the Premier League. Despite being 35-years-old the Spaniard is a class act and was one of Rovers' star performers in their 1-0 FA Cup win over QPR on Saturday. Salgado remains a fans' favourite and, with Blackburn's new owners looking the take the club places, he wants to stay on and be part of the revolution.

Happy

"I have to thank Sam," explained Salgado. "He was one of the main reasons I came to England and signed here. "I am enjoying the Premier League and enjoying Blackburn. It's about a new manager, new owners and the fans. "But if it's about the lifestyle, enjoying the Premier League and enjoying Blackburn, then I am really happy here. "In the Premier League it's very physical. I am feeling fit and I can recover and still enjoy it. "One of the main reasons I'd like to stay and have one more year is because we have a little more chance to do something big."
