Dutch defender likely to leave Blackburn next summer

Blackburn Rovers defender Andre Ooijer admits he is likely to return to Holland at the end of the season. Ooijer's contract at Ewood Park expires next summer and he has been contemplating his future. Former club PSV Eindhoven have been linked with Ooijer, while Dutch rivals Ajax, AZ Alkmaar and Feyenoord are all rumoured to be interested in the 34-year-old. The Holland international has yet to make a firm decision, but is leaning towards a move back to his homeland. "My contract is due to expire next year and then I am a free agent at the end of the season," Ooijer told the Dutch FA's official website. "In principle I am allowed to talk to other clubs from January. "If it is up to me and my family, I will return to the Netherlands." The experienced stopper arrived at Blackburn in 2006 from PSV, but is unsure who he will join when his Rovers deal runs out. He added: "I have read that there is a lot of interest in me, but I really have got no idea yet which club I will eventually move to."
