Souness - Yorke still has future here

Blackburn striker Dwight Yorke has been assured he has a future at Ewood Park if he can continue to perform like he did in Wednesday's 2-2 draw with Wolves.

Yorke came off the bench to rescue a point for Blackburn with a late goal and Rovers boss Graeme Souness believes he still has a big part to play at the club if he gets his game right.

The former Aston Villa and Manchester United hit-man has been ironically been linked with Wolves in recent weeks, but Souness is happy to keep him if he shows his commitment to the cause.

"Dwight showed me he still wants to stay here and that he wants to be starting games," said Souness.

"I am happy if he shows the willingness to play the way I want him to play.

"He is super-talented but there is no point having the ability if you don't combine it with hard work.''

Meanwhile, Rovers defender Lorenzo Amoruso could be back in action sooner than expected.

The Italian star has been missing since October after undergoing a knee operation, but is making a quicker than expected recovery from the problem.

‚Ç£I am feeling good and stepping up my recovery. I will be involved in more training from now on and I hope to be playing again before the end of January," said Amoruso
