Friedel pledges future to Rovers

BLACKBURN'S Worthington Cup hero Brad Friedel has indicated that he would like to finish his career at Ewood Park.

The American goalkeeper won man-of-the-match in Rovers' 2-1 win over Spurs and now he wants to pledge his future to the club.

The former Liverpool shot-stopper is out of contract at the end of next season, but he is ready to sign a new long-term deal with the Lancashire outfit.

"My contract expires at the end of next season and I'd like to spend the rest of my career at Rovers,"Friedel told Sports.com

"I'll be 31 at the end of this season and I'd like to secure my long-term future here."

"I'd like to secure my long-term future here," he said. "There's a lot to build on here. We have a lot of tremendous young players mixed in with experienced players."
