Olympic defender looking forward to working under new boss
Steven Caulker hopes his Olympic exploits with Team GB will help him break into the Tottenham side for the new season.
The 20-year-old impressed for Team GB as they reached the quarter-finals before losing to South Korea in a penalty shoot-out.
Caulker has returned to White Hart Lane after a successful spell on loan at Swansea last season and the central defender hopes his performances for Team GB have caught the eye of new Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas.
"The Olympics has been the perfect way for me to show the new manager what I can do and to make sure I am not out of sight," Caulker told the Daily Star on Sunday.
Caulker is looking forward to playing under former Chelsea chief Villas-Boas feeling the Portuguese tactician will give some of the younger players in the Spurs squad the chance to establish themselves.
"He seems a very interesting guy with lots of great ideas," added Caulker.
"It's a big positive for the club and he seems to put his trust in the young lads."
