Harry Redknapp is targeting a return to management in the Premier League but claims to have been inundated with offers from abroad.
The 65-year-old was sacked by Tottenham Hotspur on 13th June as the club looked to move in a different direction with a younger boss and Andre Villas-Boas is expected to be appointed this weekend.
Redknapp was understandably disappointed with his dismissal, having finished fourth in the Premier League in the past three seasons, and he believes the squad he built since 2008 at White Hart Lane could
win the top-flight title for his eventual successor.
But despite his annoyance at being dismissed, the former Portsmouth, Southampton and West Ham United manager is in no rush to decide on his next role, either at home or away from Britain, in what could be his last job before retirement.
"I have had loads of offers from abroad," he said in an exclusive interview with
Sky Sports News. "But it is not something I am going to dive in and take the first job that comes up.
"If I am going to take a job, it has got to be a good job - the right job. Otherwise, I will take my time and see where I want to go in my life."
Unbelievable position
Redknapp has for the past 12 months been linked with a lucrative move to Qatar, while clubs around Europe have also been reported as being impressed with the style of play which was produced at Spurs.
But when asked specifically about a job in the Middle East, he joked: "I am sure my missus would love that. We are very happy living where we live."
Instead, Redknapp would prefer another challenge in the Premier League and he has no doubt in his talent to produce another successful team in England's top flight.
"Absolutely no problem," he said when questioned on the subject. "I could manage anywhere. I have certainly not lost any faith in my ability.
"I have left Tottenham in an unbelievable position from when I went to the club to where they are now. It could not have gone better. It has been four fantastic years."
He added with regards to the Premier League: "That is the only place to manage, for me. As I say, you never know what comes up.
"We will wait and see. If nothing comes up, we will see where we go from there."
