Young defender Butcher plays for Exeter's reserves
Exeter City manager Paul Tisdale is keen to cement a relationship with Tottenham Hotspur after Calum Butcher played for the club's reserves.
Butcher, who had a loan spell at Barnet earlier in the season, played for Exeter's second string against Swindon Town earlier in the week in a bid to gain some experience.
Tisdale has previously signed Troy Archibald-Henville from Spurs and he believes it is beneficial for Exeter to forge close links with the Premier League club.
"Obviously Spurs want the best for their players - be it whether they come on loan or on work experience," Tisdale told the Express & Echo.
"We are a good environment for their players to come and play in. He is under contract at Spurs and he came in for a bit of work experience.
"It just cements our relationship with Spurs and gives us a bit of knowledge of the players they have got.
"That is how the Troy loan came about in the first place - he came in for some work experience and it spirals from there.
"He is a very well-organised, competent young defender who is well groomed and prepped from his time at the Spurs academy."
