Kaboul keen to get started

Younes Kaboul wants Spurs to launch their Premier League season in style.

Tottenham's new arrival Younes Kaboul wants to help the club launch their Premier League campaign in style by learning from the mistakes made last season.

The 21-year-old is Martin Jol's latest signing, after the deal was agreed with Auxerre for around £7.5million on Thursday, as the Spurs boss looks to bolster his squad ahead of the new campaign.

Spurs finished fifth in the Premiership for the second year in succession last season and the North Londoners are now looking to challenge the domestic big guns of Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal for the four UEFA Champions League spots.

Tottenham's summer spending has gone past the £30million mark, as Kaboul follows the likes of Darren Bent and Gareth Bale through the White Hart Lane entrance door, and the French Under 21 international knows the pressure will be on to get the new season off to a flying start.

"Every match is important for the club and we have to start the season well," said Kaboul

"This is what will set our position in the championship.

"I like the Premiership and Tottenham is the right club for me, now it is time to get on with it.

"The football in England is fast, I love the atmosphere and at Tottenham everything is here for us to succeed. I didn't hesitate in joining."

Kaboul made 51 appearances during his three years at Auxerre.
