Jol happy with Jenas

Tottenham boss Martin Jol believes Jermaine Jenas is developing as a player.

Tottenham boss Martin Jol believes Jermaine Jenas is developing as a player.

Jenas has enjoyed a rich vein of form in recent weeks scoring three goals in his last four games including the winner in the midweek victory over Everton.

Jol has been impressed by Jenas's development and he feels the former Newcastle man is maturing as a player.

"Jenas is developing himself in personality in our team and in the dressing room," said Jol. "I can't ask for more.

"He knows what we need - leadership in midfield. We've got a different midfield this season with Didier Zokora, and Tom Huddlestone is young.

"It's something you notice when he was back against Sheffield United, he scored the first goal and was vocal. He knew we needed that as a team.

"Against Everton he saw what we needed more of, it's a natural thing. It's not something from last week, he is developing into a player who is getting older and doing well.

"He is English which is important, for a foreign player it is more difficult."
