Aulas confirms five Lyon losses

Lyon's chairman has confirmed the imminent exit of five players from Les Gones.

Lyon chairman Jean-Michel Aulas has confirmed the imminent exit of five players from the French champions.

Talk of moves for several Stade de Gerland players had been bubbling under for some time, but the straight-talking Frenchman has now re-stated the club's position.

Striker Sidney Govou (pictured) has been linked with a move to Manchester City or Fulham, and his future will decide Pierre-Alain Frau's fate at the club.

"Lens are very interested, but we also have one or two offers in France for Frau, his case is linked to Govou's," Aulas revealed.

"If Sidney finds a club Frau will stay with us, if not then he will be transferred."

21-year-old midfield prospect Jeremy Clement has impressed Rangers boss Paul Le Guen, and so looks set to move from Les Gones for first team football.

French international defender Francois Clerc's new long-term deal means that former Sochaux defender Sylvain Monsoreau, 25, will have to find another club after an injury-blighted season.

"There could be a possibility for him to join Rennes, but we didn't want to discuss it while we were talking about Kim Kallstrom's transfer. We will see," the chairman admitted.

Defender Anthony Reveillere has also put in a transfer request, via his agent.

Meanwhile French winger Hatem Ben Arfa, 19, has made a transfer request after only starting six league games for the club last term.

"Hatem Ben Arfa hasn't agreed to our contract extension, so he will leave," Aulas confirmed.

It is not yet clear whether Tottenham Hotspur will renew their interest in the promising youngster.
