Czech goalkeeper Radek Cerny admits he has no qualms in continuing to provide the back-up to Paul Robinson at Tottenham Hotspur.
Cerny has recently turned his stay at White Hart Lane into a permanent arrangement, having been on loan from Slavia Prague for over a year.
The experienced shot-stopper signed a contract with Spurs until 2008 and was happy to commit to Martin Jol's side, despite not having made an appearance this season.
In all he has played only three times during his time in The Premiership, but was delighted that Spurs wanted to keep him.
"I have been at Tottenham on loan until the end of the season and Tottenham had an option to extend the loan for another year," Cerny told Sport.
"But they did not want that, they came up with an offer that they would like me to stay for the next two years on a permanent move.
"They want me to stay and that is positive for me. I feel they respect me."
The 32-year-old understands why he has not been given the chance to displace Robinson between the posts and is happy to be in the England number one's shadow.
He added: "When I came here last year, they told me I was the number two goalkeeper behind Paul Robinson and this has not changed.
"They told me they were happy with me, that they wanted to have such an experienced goalkeeper to cover Robinson's back.
"Otherwise, there are many young goalkeepers in the club. I took the role and agreed with it and nothing will change in the future about it. It would go on this way.
"If this was not the World Cup season, the situation would have been a bit different, but Paul - as England's number one - has been preparing for the World Cup finals.
"I know I would play more somewhere else, but on the other hand, this is Tottenham and The Premiership.
"I would not change."
