City to swoop for Wright

Norwich have reportedly agreed a fee with Wigan for David Wright's services.

Norwich City have reportedly agreed a £300,000 fee with Wigan Athletic for David Wright's services.

The 25-year-old has only been with The Latics for one season following his move from Crewe last summer.

Wright was a regular in Wigan's promotion campaign making 31 appearances, but is not expected to feature regularly in The Premiership.

Norwich, who have drawn their opening three Championship matches of the new season, have yet to keep a clean sheet this term.

Canaries boss Nigel Worthington is keen to bolster his defensive options after losing the likes of Thomas Helveg and Marc Edworthy during the close season.

Meanwhile, Norwich could be set to land another Tottenham Hotspur starlet on loan.

The club have already secured Dean Marney's services on a year-long loan and are now keen on youngster Philip Ifil.
