Portsmouth defender Hermann Hreidarsson is hopeful that his future will be resolved once the club's takeover is finalised.
The veteran Icelander is still waiting on being offered a new deal, but indicated that talks have already been held and that a contract will eventually be put on the table.
A proposed takeover of the financially troubled side is in the offing from Convers Sports Initiative, but nothing concrete has been confirmed, leaving several players in limbo over their future.
Hreidarsson, who won the FA Cup with Pompey in 2008, has been at Fratton Park since 2007 and is keen to stay put at the club.
The 36-year-old is one of just 18 permanent players at the club, and is happy to agree terms after recovering from an Achilles injury that almost ended his long career.
Hanging around
He told the
Portsmouth News: "We've spoken (about a new contract).
"It's all hanging around at the moment, possibly because of the takeover.
"We're chopping and changing and aren't knowing which players are going to be here.
"We have to get the takeover sorted first. Maybe there is more important things than me. I'm hoping to stay, though. I want to stay.
"Hopefully, I'll be sitting down at some stage soon and signing that lucrative 10-year contract!"
