Nantes move for Douala

Nantes are hoping to take Rodolph Douala on loan until the end of the season.

Nantes are hoping to take Rodolph Douala on loan until the end of the season, according to L'Equipe.

The Cameroon international is keen to end a 'nightmare' spell at Portsmouth, where he  went on loan in the summer.

Douala has been limited to just two Premiership appearances for Harry Redknapp's side and wants to return to Sporting Lisbon.

The Portuguese club are not looking to bring Douala back and Nantes are thought to be ready to step in.

The Ligue 1 side hope to negotiate a loan deal for the 28-year-old with the option to buy in the summer.

Nantes are looking to add a midfielder to their squad after allowing Christian Wilhelmsson to join Roma.
