Former Portsmouth defender Gregory Vignal is reportedly close to striking a deal with French side Lens.Vignal was released by Pompey in April after failing to settle on the South Coast and his agents have been working hard to secure the defender a home for next term.
With the Ligue 1 season now over, teams are looking towards the transfer market and Lens are ready to offer Vignal a home for next term.
"Everybody knows there is a club very interested in Gregory," Vignal's agent Phillipe Flavier told skysports.com.
"It is a Ligue 1 club in the north and yes, Lens is interested."
Vignal has had a long spell away from home soil, but has never settled at one club and is keen to put down roots in France.
