Former Portsmouth defender Gregory Vignal is reportedly close to striking a deal with French side Lens.
Vignal was released by Pompey in April after failing to settle on the South Coast and his agents have been working hard to secure the defender a home for next term.
With the Ligue 1 season now over, teams are looking towards the transfer market and Lens are ready to offer Vignal a home for next term.
"Everybody knows there is a club very interested in Gregory," Vignal's agent Phillipe Flavier told skysports.com.
"It is a Ligue 1 club in the north and yes, Lens is interested."
Vignal has had a long spell away from home soil, but has never settled at one club and is keen to put down roots in France.
