Portsmouth v Blackpool

Deon Burton is primed to make his first start for Portsmouth for more than a year when Blackpool provide the opposition in the FA Cup third round on Saturday.

The striker has been playing much of his football out on loan, away from Fratton Park, but is tipped to get the nod to replace Jason Roberts, after West Brom denied their player permission to play for the club he joined on loan.

Alexei Smertin is available again after missing the defeat to Chelsea because the West Londoners did not want the Russian to figure against them, but Steve Stone is out with the hamstring strain that forced him to limp out of the Stamford Bridge defeat.

Welsh international Carl Robinson is hoping for a rare start as Harry Redknapp ponders shuffling his pack.

Blackpool captain Richie Wellens looks set to return for Steve McMahon's men after resting a hamstring problem, but Keith Southern is still missing.

Stephen McMahon, the 19-year-old son of the manager, did well in the defeat at Wrexham, but may have to settle for a place on the bench.
