Reading are lining up a move for Huddersfield Town midfielder Oliver Norwood, Sky Sports understands.

Norwood is regarded as one of the best midfield playmakers outside the Premier League after joining from Manchester United in 2012.

A number of clubs have been linked with Norwood in the past with Celtic credited with an interest in the Northern Ireland international in January.

Reading are in the market for midfield reinforcements before the transfer window closes and have earmarked Norwood as their top target.

Nigel Adkins' side are thought to have made an enquiry about the 23-year-old as they look to lure him to the Madejski Stadium

Norwood did not feature in Huddersfield's defeat to Cardiff at the weekend and the recent arrivals of Jacob Butterfield, Conor Coady and Radoslaw Majewski means they may be open to selling him.
