Huddersfield boss lauds Dixon and Norwood

Huddersfield Town manager Simon Grayson is hopeful that Paul Dixon and Oliver Norwood will shine for Scotland and Northern Ireland, respectively, on Tuesday night. Dixon is set to feature for Scotland against Macedonia at Hampden Park in Glasgow in their second game of the 2014 World Cup qualifying campaign. Norwood could also be in action on Tuesday, as Northern Ireland aim to win their qualifier against Luxembourg in Belfast.

Confidence-boost

"Paul's debut performance [against Serbia] will have done him no end of good and worked wonders for his confidence," said Grayson in The Huddersfield Daily Examiner. "He played ever so well against Serbia and to do that in such an important game is significant for him and significant for the club. "Paul has grown in stature as a result and, even if the lads who were originally in the squad are now fit again, he has shown what he can do and he's done his chances of more international involvement no harm whatsoever. "I'm delighted for the lad, because he's a good worker, he wants to learn and he was determined to join us and further his career - and it's already happening for him. "He's settled in well here, we like the attacking quality he gives us and his attitude is spot on, so the whole package of his game is one that appeals."
Excellent start
Grayson also backed Norwood to turn on the style for Northern Ireland if he plays. "Ollie will be disappointed he wasn't involved (against Russia) because he has made an excellent start to the season. "But he's a regular with the national squad and if he gets the opportunity to show what he can do against Luxembourg, he certainly won't let anyone down." Both Dixon and Norwood are likely to be in Grayson's starting line-up when Town return to Championship action against Derby County on Saturday.
