Hornets boss confirms Hall interest

Watford boss Gianfranco Zola has played down rumours of a surprise move for veteran Italian striker Filippo Inzaghi. Reports suggested free agent Inzaghi was being lined up for a move to the Championship and was set to visit the Hornets' training ground for talks on Tuesday. However, Zola has laughed off the rumours that he is close to signing his fellow countryman. "Obviously he is a player with a big name and I normally don't talk about players that are not my players," Zola told Sky Sports News. "As far as I am concerned I have got players to look after here and I am going to focus on them. "Inzaghi is a big name and he is an intriguing name, but as a manager I have to focus on my resources." When asked if Inzaghi had been at Watford's training ground on Tuesday, Zola joked: "He might have been at the training ground but I wasn't! I can assure you he wasn't there."

Hall interest

Zola did confirm that former Queens Park Rangers defender Fitz Hall is a transfer target for the club. Sky Sports understands Hall is set to join the Hornets on a free transfer after undergoing a medical and Zola confirmed talks are ongoing. "I'm not sure if it's done and dusted. He is a player we are very much interested in," he admitted.
