Royals skipper targets back-to-back victories

Captain Matt Mills has called on Reading to take maximum points from their forthcoming Madejski Stadium double-header. The Royals welcome Barnsley to Berkshire on Saturday before Roy Keane's Ipswich Town are the visitors on Tuesday evening. Skipper Mills wants his team-mates to get back to winning ways following the disappointment of their 3-1 defeat at Middlesbrough last time out. Brian McDermott's men have had a mixed start to the Championship campaign, but are just three points off the play-off places despite sitting 16th in the tightly-packed table. "We really need to take advantage of these next two games," Mills told the Reading Post. "We go into every game wanting to win, that doesn't change.

Fortress

"We've got two home games now and if we pick up two wins we'll find ourselves at the right end of the table again. "We need to make the Madejski a fortress for teams to come and be picking up points there. "After the first few games there could have been some slight talk of panic, but then we went and beat Leicester away and all of a sudden we were in the top half of the league. "We got a good draw at Millwall and everything was looking OK. Obviously we would have liked to have won at Middlesbrough to set us up for the week, but it wasn't to be. "Before the Boro game I think we were third in the league for goals conceded. "So I think if we can stay in the top six of that all year and up our scoring rate and get in the top six of that we might find ourselves where we want to be at the end of the season."
