Keeper Andersen to stay at Memorial Stadium

Mikkel Andersen is poised to extend his loan deal at Bristol Rovers until the end of the season. The 21-year-old Reading goalkeeper has been outstanding for the Pirates since arriving at the Memorial Stadium at the start of September. The Denmark Under 21 international is due to return to the Madejski Stadium, but Rovers chairman Nick Higgs revealed the club are on the verge of securing a deal to keep Andersen until May. "We are close to completing a deal that will keep Mikkel Andersen at the Memorial Stadium until the end of the season," Higgs told the club's official website. "An emergency loan is being done this week to cover the Wycombe game (on Saturday), and the plan is for him to sign a standard loan deal on Monday which will see him stay with us until the end of the current campaign."
