Free agent defender non-committal over future

Sam Sodje has stated he will not necessarily join Leeds this summer following his release from Reading. The powerful defender, who finished the season on loan at Elland Road, is a free agent after leaving the Royals. The Whites are the early favourites to secure the 30-year-old services, although the two-cap Nigeria international is not short of suitors. Sodje has conceded he did not realise Leeds were such a massive club, however, he is giving no assurances as to where he will be playing next season.

Massive club

"Leeds are a massive club. I didn't realise just how massive they are until I got there," he told the Yorkshire Evening Post. "I loved my time up there and I was so disappointed that I couldn't help get them (promoted). It's a shame to see them where they are. "I'm a free agent and I'm in a very good position. Will I go back there? I don't know. They are a massive club but I've got a lot of options."
