Bikey waits on Coppell talks

Andre Bikey is waiting to discuss his Reading future with manager Steve Coppell.

On-loan defender Andre Bikey is waiting to discuss his Reading future with Steve Coppell.

The Cameroon international has made 17 appearances during his loan spell from Lokomotiv Moscow and is keen to stay in the Premiership.

Coppell has hinted at a permanent deal for Bikey, who is looking for guidance on his situation from the Reading boss.

"I want to stay in England," Bikey told the Reading Chronicle. "Everything is good for me here. My Spanish wife likes it because it's very much like Spain.

"But Lokomotiv Moscow are my team. I have two more years left with them, so I'll wait and see what the gaffer decides.

"He hasn't said anything to me yet. If I don't have any options then I'll go back to Moscow."

Meanwhile, Bikey has explained the passport issue which has prevented him from playing in Cameroon's African Cup of Nations qualifier with Liberia on Saturday.

He added: "My visa has expired. I've sent off for a new one, but there is no time.

"I am trying to get a five-year visa to avoid it happening again. But if I don't have a passport I can't travel for now.

"It's disappointing, but I've spoken with the Cameroon manager and he's okay with it. Obviously I want to go away with the team, but that's impossible."
