Mansfield Town boss Peter Shirtliff has signed former Reading defender Johnny Mullins. The 20-year-old arrives at the League Two club on a two-year deal after failing to make a breakthrough into Steve Coppell's first team.
Mullins, who had two spells on loan with Nationwide Conference side Kidderminster Harriers, sees his move to Field Mill as a positive step in his career.
"I wasn't going to be figuring much in the Reading side, so I see the move to Mansfield as nothing but positive," Mullins told the club's official website.
"I was at loan with Kidderminster when they got relegated which wasn't too good, but I am looking forward to playing in The Football League again.
"I do not know a great deal about Mansfield Town, but I do know a few of the lads and I can't wait to get started."
