Murty hits out at Tonge

Graeme Murty has accused Michael Tonge of feigning an injury on Saturday.

Graeme Murty has accused Michael Tonge of feigning an injury during Reading's 0-0 draw with Sheffield United on Saturday.

The two players had a running battle at The Madejski Stadium which resulted in Murty feeling aggrieved with Tonge.

Murty felt he had been elbowed by the Blades midfielder and he was left prone on the turf for some time.

Later in the game, the two players tangled again with Tonge falling to the ground on this occasion.

Reading full back Murty is adamant he did not touch Tonge and feels it is laughable that his opponent was clutching his face.

"It felt to me like there was contact when I went down," Murty told the club's official website.

"The other lads said there was contact but the officials chose not to see it.

"When he went down later on there was some jeering from the fans and some jeering from me too.

"If he went down from me supposedly hitting his face then that's a joke because I didn't touch him."
