Farina keen to tie up young talent

READING'S young goalkeeper Jamie Young has attracted attention from both the Australian and English national set-ups - and could be fast tracked into the former's Olympic Under-23 squad.

Although Young apparently wishes to play for Australia - Ray Clemence has told him he could play for England.

As a result it appears that Frank Farina could fast track the player into the Under-23s to stave off interest from the country he plies his trade in.

"It's a tough one," said SocceRoos coach Farina. "I've never seen the kid play but obviously if someone like Clemence has a big wrap on him then he must have something going for him.

"Do I believe in tying players up? Yes as long as I'm convinced what they want to do most of all is play for Australia."
