The leggy defender only figured once for The Royals but has said that is happy at The Madejski and wants to stay and fight his way into the team.
Alan Pardew's side look set for a place in Division One and he is looking to keep the 24-year-old who has plenty of experience in the division.
Roget told Reading's website that he did not want to return to Carlton Palmer's relegated Stockport, and is enjoying his stay in Berkshire.
"I didn't really want to go back to Stockport and I've enjoyed it here even though I've not been playing. I'm hoping I'll get another chance before the season's end," said Roget.
"I'm very happy to play and train here, and now the management here can have more of a look at me until the end of the season.
"In the latter part of the month I've felt much more settled here and I think that's shown when I've played for the reserves."
Meanwhile, County midfielder David Smith has been told he has no future at Edgeley Park by boss Palmer.
The club must now start to ready themselves for life in Division Two and Palmer does not see the 31-year-old scouser as part of his plans.
The news could alert Macclesfield Town boss David Moss, who has already tried to sign the playmaker in the past after a successful loan spell at Moss Rose, but his bid was then turned down by The Hatters.
