Former West Brom and Middlesbrough boss Tony Mowbray is in the frame for the vacant manager's job at Bolton.

Bolton are searching for a new manager following the departure of Dougie Freedman earlier on Friday.

Freedman left the Macron Stadium by mutual consent after a run of just one win in their opening 10 games in the Sky Bet Championship.

A number of names have already been linked with the vacancy, and Sky Sports understands Mowbray is in the running for the job.

Mowbray has been out of work since leaving Middlesbrough last October and he is keen to get back into management.

Mowbray, who is renowned for playing attractive, attacking football, has a wealth of mangerial experience having worked at Hibernian, West Brom, Celtic and Middlesbrough during his career.
