Bolton to tie down South Korean ace

Lee Chung-yong is reported to have signed a new three-year deal at Bolton Wanderers. According to reports in Korea, the 22 year-old's management agency recently met with Phil Gartside in China and a contract extension was agreed between the Bolton chairman and Kim Seung-tae, chief executive of TI Sports. The deal will keep the talented winger at the Reebok Stadium until 2013 where he will earn close to £1.7 million per season. Lee, who featured in South Korea's 1-0 loss to Iran in Seoul on Tuesday, has been the subject of interest from several top European clubs including Liverpool. However, the former FC Seoul star is happy at Bolton and is determined to guide the Trotters to a respectable finish in the Premier League this term. "Bolton's goal this season is to stay in the (Premier League) but I would like to lead Bolton to mid-table," he said.
