Addicks eye Olic

CHARLTON ATHLETIC have handed a trial to Croatian striker Ivica Olic.

The 23-year-old is very highly rated and is a regular in the Croatian national side.

La Liga giants Real Sociedad have been showing an interest, but now Olic has turned up in England and is keen on sealing a move to The Premiership.

Bolton and Southampton have been linked with an interest in the past, but now Charlton have moved to land Olic.

The striker played last season with Dinamo Zagreb, after spending the previous year at NK Zagreb.

Olic is still contracted to his hometown club of Marsonia Slavonski Brod, where he began his career - but they are not in the Croatian First Division and will allow the player to move because of this.

Olic has tried his hand in one of Europe's major leagues before when he moved to Hertha Berlin in 1998, but he only lasted two years and moved back to Marsonia - where he stayed for another two seasons before their relegation in 2001.
