The Belgian FA has given Everton midfielder Marouane Fellaini extra time before joining up with the national squad.
Fellaini has been consistently linked with a move to Old Trafford to link up again with former boss David Moyes.
Manchester United's joint bid of £36million for Fellaini and Everton team-mate Leighton Baines was turned down in August though, with the Merseyside club describing the bid as 'derisory'.
But the Belgian FA's decision has prompted speculation Fellaini may yet sign for the Premier League champions, with the 25-year-old apparently top of Moyes' wish list as he looks to strengthen his squad before the end of the transfer deadline.
Belgium face Scotland in a World Cup Group A qualifier at Hampden Park on Friday.
