Wolfsburg have agreed a loan deal for Dieumerci Mbokani to scupper Everton's hopes of landing striker.

Striker looking forward to making an impact in Bundesliga

Wolfsburg have agreed a deal to sign Dieumerci Mbokani on loan to scupper Everton's hopes of landing the Monaco striker. Everton had been among several clubs to show an interest in the 25-year-old, who only joined Monaco from Standard Liege last summer. However, German side Wolfsburg have agreed a loan move for Mbokani and he will help to fill the void created by Edin Dzeko's sale to Manchester City. "Dieumerci Mbokani will be joining VfL Wolfsburg," the club's general manager Marc Keller told Allgemeine Zeitung. "He has already been travelling to the club."

Tough leage

Mbokani acknowledged his time in France with Monaco was not a big success and he is looking forward to the chance to make an impact in the Bundesliga. "To be honest, I am flattered to be playing in the German league," Mbokani told skysports.com. "It is a tough league and I hope to make a name for myself in the Bundesliga. "Monaco did not work out for me, but that is life."
