Toffees defender to join Turkish giants
Australia captain Lucas Neill has reportedly quit Everton to take up an offer to join Galatasaray.
According to the Turkish club's
official website, the Australia international has put pen-to-paper on an 18-month deal after Everton accepted a fee of around £750,000 for his services.
No such announcement has been made by The Toffees' as yet, but Neill is expected to link up with international team-mate and former Liverpool star Harry Kewell at Ali Sami Yen Stadium next week.
Happy
The 31-year-old had joined Everton on a free transfer from West Ham in September and recently told
Sky Sports News he was happy with life at Goodison Park.
However, he was taken aback by Galatasaray's offer and the opportunity for a new challenge proved too much to resist.
During his four-month stay at Everton, the versatile defender made 15 appearances for David Moyes' side.
