Latics caretaker manager John Sheridan has decided to bring the 19-year-old to Boundary Park for a four-week stay after running the rule over the youngster in recent reserve matches.
Having yet to make a first team appearance at Goodison Park, Schumacher had spent time on loan with Division Three bottom club Carlisle United last autumn.
The Toffees' teenager is expected to join the Second Division club later in the week, with the club facing Wrexham at home on Tuesday evening.
